A New Yellow House The Abyss, faithful reader, is
going to be experiencing a fortnight of downtime. I am
going to be moving from Connecticut to Rhode Island and in the
midst of the relocation my trusty personal computer will,
unfortunately, be in pieces. Your patience during this
period is appreciated. In the meantime, feel free to
explore areas of the site you may not have visited in some
time. Rest assured the Abyss' daily news and updates
will resume as soon as possible in mid September. The
site will certainly return in its former capacity. Thank
you for your continued interest, both in the site and all
things Millennium. I appreciate it.

Music of Hope, Music of Pain The Millennial Abyss music
download section has been updated once more to bring you one
of the most requested pieces of Millennium underscore
music. "Hope and Pain," a melody first heard
accompanying the
third season episode "Closure," is regularly cited by the
Millennium fan as a personal favorite. Mark Snow
himself, in fact, feels the tune is among his best efforts.
The somber song speaks volumes of the emotional themes so
intrinsically tied to the series. Visit the
music download section to immerse yourself in
Millennium's "Hope and Pain."

Lance Goes Digital Again Game publisher
THQ has announced
that Lance Henriksen will be the vocal star of its upcoming
Playstation 2 first-person action game
Red Faction II.
"The addition of Lance
Henriksen's voice talent adds intensity and a distinct style
to the game's audio,"
explains Volition Studios President
Mike Kulas. Henriksen
himself is equally enthusiastic about the project.
"Being involved in the creation of a top-tier game like Red
Faction II is an extremely rewarding experience," Lance
commented to game site IGN. "It is obvious that games are moving to include
more cinema-type production values and as an actor I am
excited to be a part of this movement." The news comes
as game players still await the release of Interplay's long in
development Run Like
Hell, another Playstation 2 game starring Lance
Henriksen. Both games are expected to hit stores sometime this holiday season.
Visit
IGN,
Gamespot, and the
Sci-Fi Wire for further details on the actor's latest
foray into digital territory.

And Baby Makes Three
The alumni associated with father
figures Glen Morgan and James Wong, most of whom were integrally involved with
Millennium's production, have always resembled a family. Now,
Morgan literally has a family of his own. Glen Morgan and Kristen Cloke are
celebrating the birth of their first child. Winslow
Morgan, born on June 21st, is a bouncing baby boy named for
famed
19th century painter Winslow
Homer. Glen has reportedly announced that the baby is
doing fine and "Kristen is
having the time of her life." The Abyss extends its
warmest wishes and most heartfelt congratulations to the couple. Thanks go out, as with all
Glen Morgan news, to
Kate Duncan
and Morgan and
Wong Online for the belated notice.

A Future in Fan Fiction
It was recently revealed that the
web's most extensive library of Millennium fan fiction
was intact and back online, albeit without hope for future
additions. Now,
word comes from
webmaster
T. S. Flanders
that
The
Millennium Compendium website will continue to operate with periodic
updates to its unrivaled archive under his supervision.
Visit the Compendium to search the available fiction listings
and feel free, in the future, to submit new works or
appropriate questions to
Flanders via that
site. It's nice to add the Compendium once more to the
extremely short list of up to date Millennium devoted
websites online.

Shadows of September 11th
It's evident from this week's
Sci-Fi UK scheduling
choices that the shadows of September 11th still loom darkly
across the world media. Due to its graphic depiction of
a violent airline disaster and the ensuing investigation,
Sci-Fi UK has chosen not to air the third season Millennium
premiere "The Innocents" for the second cycle in a row.
Instead, that episode's second part, "Exegesis," has
been chosen as the channel's Pick of the Day and will be shown
this evening without introduction. It's uncertain when,
in Great Britain or worldwide, the episode will be
deemed airworthy once more. Visit the Abyss
airdates
section for a listing of episodes scheduled to show in the
coming weeks.

Second Time Around Fans in the United Kingdom

Fortunately, the time is near for British audiences to watch
the masterworks of Morgan and Wong once more. It has
recently been confirmed that Millennium's second season
will be shown once again on
Sky One.
Repeats will begin airing at 1:00am every night of the
week starting August 19th. Visit Millennium

The Compendium Continues Onetime Millennium
webmaster Matt Asendorf has contacted me to let it be known
that the most inclusive fiction library devoted to the series
on the web is still operational and continues in many
capacities online.
Visit what remains of Asendorf's
Millennium
Compendium website to peruse the searchable archives and
click your way to worthwhile Millennium reading
material. While the database of fan fiction located
there is extensive it may be incomplete and is no longer being updated.
As a
result, requests or submissions should not be directed toward
the site. Our perpetual thanks to Matt for his previous
efforts.

Emmy Nod For Snow
The 54th Annual
Emmy Award nominees were announced
earlier this month and a prominent member of the Ten-Thirteen
Productions team was among them. Mark Snow's work for
The X-Files
series finale, "The Truth," was nominated
for
Outstanding Music Composition for a Series (Dramatic
Underscore). This is Snow's twelfth Emmy Award nomination
connected with musical composition. Notably, this was
the only nomination received by Ten-Thirteen and The
X-Files this year.
The Emmy
Awards will be presented this September.

Bring Henriksen Home Millennium fans looking to
see more of star Lance Henriksen on their television screens
certainly have options open to them. The official Lance
Henriksen website has been recently updated to now include an
extensive
listing of the actor's work available on VHS and DVD and
offers fans the opportunity to purchase these movies via
Amazon.com. For the curious, the Millennium link
connects to a VHS edition of "Pilot"/"Gehenna," the
solitary video
of the series released in the United States. The posting
of this listing comes shortly after the announcement that
Near Dark, the 1987 horror film which depicts Lance
memorably as a vampire, is about to be released for the first
time on DVD by
Anchor
Bay Entertainment. Such offerings should keep the
hardcore fan occupied while we eagerly await word concerning
the possible release of Henriksen's more recent cinematic
ventures.

Three Times the Ten-Thirteen Fans in Canada or the United
Kingdom will want to find the remote control and fire up the
VCR! Some of the rarest quality Ten-Thirteen programming
is currently being shown on some prominent television outlets.
The Canadian
Space Channel is now showing all nine of the elusive
episodes of Chris Carter's Harsh Realm, a stunning
series starring Millennium's Terry O'Quinn, on Monday
nights at 9pm. The horror centric Canadian
Scream Channel,
meanwhile, assures viewers that despite the fact that Twin
Peaks has taken over Millennium's nightly timeslot
that Frank Black will return with the network's fall schedule.
Across the Atlantic,
Sci-Fi UK is currently airing a dozen of the comedically
conspiratorial episodes of The Lone Gunmen on Mondays
at 9pm. As noted in the column to the right,
Sci-Fi UK also
continues to show Millennium in its Tuesday night
timeslot. Despite their perceived failure in the United
States, and fortunately for fans, the lost shows of
Ten-Thirteen continue to stir interest worldwide.

Henriksen and Hallmark While many of actor Lance
Henriksen's recently completed films are in high demand among
his cult of fans they remain, unfortunately, currently
unobtainable. Henriksen remains prolific, however, and
his official website has recently given us the first glimpse
of him in action as Will Cooper in Hallmark's The Last Cowboy.
Fortunately, most fans will have a chance to see this
most recent movie as it will come to television this December. Visit the
official Lance Henriksen website to check out the photo of
cowboy Lance, appropriately clad in white hat, or
this article to read a bit about Lance's role in the Hallmark Channel's efforts to expand.

Familiar Faces on Film Once avid Millennium
viewers heading to the cinema this summer are sure to see a
number of familiar faces on the big screen.
Klea Scott,
Millennium's Emma Hollis, has a minor supporting role
alongside Tom Cruise and a bevy of former The X-Files
guest stars in Steven Spielberg's
Minority Report.
Meanwhile,
John Beasley, seen throughout Millennium's third
season as Emma's father James Hollis, is appearing with
Philip
Baker Hall, formerly the Millennium Group Elder, in the
Tom Clancy inspired apocalyptic political thriller
The Sum of All
Fears. Many talented guest performers,
fortunately, had their turn at creating the strong characters
that populated the Millennium universe.
