Trivial Pursuits
The United Kingdom's Sci-Fi Channel has created a simple trivia contest to
promote their weekly showings of episodes from Millennium's third
season. After elaborating upon the background of the series and its star,
Sci-Fi UK's website reveals to visitors what Lance Henriksen was working at
when not portraying Frank Black. "With
the odd exception, Lance has made a living from playing dark or villainous
roles so his alternative career may come as a bit of a surprise -- he is also
a master potter." Henriksen has donated six
sets of t-shirts and hats, each bearing the logo of his
Screaming
Red Ass pottery line, to the contest. Visit
Sci-Fi UK's competition page for background information and a chance to
win. The closing date for entries is January 6, 2002.

Don't Be Dark
It has been revealed that Mangler 2, a recently completed horror film
sequel starring Lance Henriksen, will be released straight to video and DVD on
February 19, 2002. The
Toque, an online humor magazine, has taken the occasion of its premier
to poke fun at our favorite leading man. "Lance Henriksen, known for his role
of Frank Black in Millennium... may have cause for concern. The actor
showed genuine positive emotion during a recent public appearance -- behaviour
which could jeopardize his career," the magazine stated mockingly in its
December 18th
issue. "Henriksen was caught smirking during the premiere of Mangler 2,
where he plays the headmaster of a school whose computer system is infected by
a virus. The 61-year-old actor has made a career of playing solemn and
melancholy characters. Henriksen downplayed the incident by calling the
display of cheerfulness 'just a spasm.'" Millennium fans are fortunate
enough to have been able to glimpse that warmer side of Lance which is kept
from most of his performances. For more information on the release of
Mangler 2 watch

Merry Christmas! Christmas is upon us.
The third season episode "Omerta,"
appropriately, will air
tomorrow morning at 1:00am on the FX cable network. Be sure to
e-mail FX and thank
them for this most recent Millennium showing. If you prefer
"Midnight
of the Century" as a holiday episode then click your
way into the episode guide and peruse the photos, review, and complete transcript available for
that episode. As the
angel Simon once told Frank Black, "Legend has it that ghosts
walk in church yards on Christmas Eve...
There's no telling whose face you might see. Why put off 'til
tomorrow what should be done today?" Have a safe and
happy holiday.

The Four Seasons The virtual fourth season of
Millennium has a new home! Fans will remember that
the virtual season was created following the show's
cancellation as a means of continuing its characters and
themes and bringing closure to its mythology.
The remarkable endeavor, overseen by Matt Asendorf and Dan
Owen, attracted great attention and was discussed in such
prominent publications as
The New York Post, Details,
and
Salon.com. All twenty-two of the season's
well crafted original teleplays have now been archived in a new
Millennial Abyss subsection. Further content pertaining
to the virtual fourth season of Millennium will be
added to the Abyss in the near future. For now, you can click your way to the new
virtual season section and examine the archived scripts,
critical reviews, and print ads which are currently available for each
episode. Special thanks go out to executive producer
Matt Asendorf, whose dedication to the Millennium fan
community has made the preservation of this material possible.
Enjoy!

All in a Day's Work Chip Johannessen, the talented
writer
who scripted fourteen Millennium episodes and served as
executive producer for the show's third season, has apparently been added
to the writing staff of FOX's unique new drama 24.
Johannessen wrote last week's episode of the
real time serial drama, "4AM - 5AM." Additionally, the
episode was directed Winrich Kolbe, the first season
Millennium director who helmed such episodes as "Kingdom
Come," "Lamentation," and "Broken World."
It's uncertain what the extent of Johannessen and Kolbe's
participation will be for the remainder of the show's season.
Fellow longtime Ten-Thirteen veterans Howard Gordon and Bryan
Spicer contributed to last night's episode, "5AM - 6AM." For
information on upcoming episodes, or for a schedule of 24
encore showings, visit FOX's
official website for the series.

A Ghost of Christmas Past As fans in the United States are
well aware, the FX cable network which possesses the
syndicated rights to Millennium dropped the series from
its regular schedule several months ago without explanation.
Now, FX has scheduled a single Millennium airing before
the close of 2001. On December 25th,
Christmas Day, FX will air the third season holiday themed
episode "Omerta" at 1:00am. Whether or not this scheduling decision
indicates FX is interested in continuing to air the series in
the future remains to be seen as no solid scheduling
information has been provided yet for 2002. Fans are
encouraged to contact FX
to clearly voice their interest in seeing the series return to
television.

Devilish Déjà
Vu
Millennium fans who tuned in to see last week's episode of The
X-Files, "Dæmonicus," may have thought they were seeing a passed over
Millennium script resurrected in new context. In the new season, Annabeth
Gish and Robert Patrick seem to be filling familiar roles while investigating
instances of supernatural evil. Whether or not the fans agree, perhaps as a
result of the series' recent change in tone, creator Chris Carter believes
there are plenty of tales for the ongoing X-Files to tell. "There's
still a tremendous number of stories that can be told. The trick is exploring
them with this new cast of characters," Carter recently said. "The only
reasons I stay are that I feel a tremendous loyalty to the people I work
with." Further episode throughout The X-Files' ninth season are sure
to exhibit continued similarities to Millennium, including "Lord of the
Flies" and "Hellbound." Visit the

Television of Tomorrow
Despite continuing to bring in millions at
the box office and a full slate of upcoming motion pictures in development it
looks as if former Millennium executive producers Glen Morgan and James
Wong will continue to develop television shows for the major networks. Their
latest pilot is being developed in conjunction with
former NASA
scientist Gentry Lee and is based on his latest science fiction novel.
"It's sort of a historical perspective
of the future," Wong told the
Sci-Fi Wire. "It's
really a kind of family drama set in the future, with the implications of what
the future brings... and sort of the ethical and moral problems, and also the
day-to-day problems, that Gentry has envisioned in the near future or the next
100 years." The new series is presumably being developed as a part of the
duo's development deal with DreamWorks and NBC which previously produced the
supernatural television drama The Others.

Millennium's Terry O'Quinn is
currently completing work as the star of Hometown Legend, a high school
football drama scheduled to hit select theaters in January. The film's
official website has endless praise for the talented actor. "Terry O'Quinn
portrays Buster Schuler," the site explains, "the legendary coach who comes
out of retirement for Athens' last season. Director James Anderson wanted
someone who had a presence even when he wasn't speaking... Although Coach
Schuler is a departure from his normally more reserved roles, O'Quinn gives a
phenomenal, dominating performance that, if promoted, could generate award
buzz." Millennium fans know fully well how dominating the man's

Black and Beyond The
official website of Lance Henriksen has been updated today with
some interesting information on the
actor. The full text of three unique magazine articles, all
of which feature Henriksen as their focus and devoted
considerable space to discussing his work on Millennium, are
now available online. The profiles and
interviews presented by GQ, TV Zone, and
Entertainment Weekly offer new insight into Lance's
thoughts concerning his work as Frank Black. "It isn't about the
millennium finishing," Lance states regarding the show's
sudden and untimely end, "it's really something else. The
millennium was a good hook but in reality it was about
something that is going on all the time. Like, right now there
is an awful lot of strange cases going on in America and
everywhere else. My biggest hope was that we would have done a
Millennium feature film. If anything ever leant itself
to a feature it would be Millennium." Visit

Tragedy Free TV The effects of the terrorist
attacks against the United States are certainly being felt in
Hollywood. Ten-Thirteen President Frank Spotnitz
recently told TV Guide that the way The X-Files
deals with depicting evil will reflect such concerns.
"We're working on a mythology [episode] now," Spotnitz said,
"and you want to find a way to be thematically relevant and
say something true about fighting evil and fanaticism and
irrationality, but you want to do it in a way that is
appropriate and doesn't trivialize what's really going on in
the world. We've got a certain palette to paint on, which is
the paranormal, and it just does not feel at all appropriate
to mix that with real-life events." I continue to
receive e-mail from fans who've come to realize stunning
thematic parallels between Millennium's stories about
tragedy and human evil and the true events which are making
news around the world. Millennium always did a
powerful job of addressing very real concerns. We can
only imagine how Millennium's creative staff would
choose to address these monumental current affairs if the show
were still on the air today.

Back to the Big Screen Chris Carter and Ten-Thirteen
Productions are finalizing plans with Twentieth Century Fox to
bring The X-Files to movie theaters for the
second time. Both David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson
are currently in talks to star in the coming film, which is
expected to be a stand-alone horror story free from the
constraints of the convoluted ongoing X-Files
mythology. Chris Carter and Frank Spotnitz will write
and produce the sequel with an eye toward a 2003 release date.
The first film earned Fox $84 million domestically and the box office success of The X-Files' second motion
picture could very well determine the future for further big
screen Ten-Thirteen Productions, including the often talked of
possible
Millennium film. Stay tuned to

Two's the Charm Writer/director James Wong has
been talking with
Cinescape regarding his work on The One and, in an
interview released yesterday, he shared his thoughts on
Millennium's second season. Wong remains high-minded
regarding the unique characters and powerful themes he helped
introduce to the show. "I was proud of the work we did
on Millennium... We brought in, I think, some
interesting ideas in regards to the Millennium Group, and
about the coming of the millennium and what that means and
what that portends. I think it was scary in a very different
way than a serial killer stalking you... I think it may have
been sometimes a little too intellectual or sometimes too
obscure, but on the other hand I think [for] people who really
dug it, it was a show that didn’t talk down to you and kind of
went for big ideas." Wong went on to note that,
although he and partner Glen Morgan are working on a number of
big screen projects, he would not dismiss future television
work. Wong's unabridged comments
defending his work on Millennium are

One by One
Millennium's Glen Morgan and James Wong continue to enjoy great success
in the feature film industry. The duo's latest film, The One,
fared better than expected for Sony Pictures and debuted strongly in the
second spot last weekend, bringing in an estimated $20 million, the largest
opening ever for a Jet Li vehicle. The writing/directing team has
already set their sights on their next big screen science fiction tale.
Morgan and Wong Online
reports that, in addition to remaking the classic horror films Willard
and Don't Be Afraid of the Dark, the duo's schedule now includes a film
adaptation of John Kessel's 1983
science fiction short story "Hearts Do Not In Eyes Shine."
The film will the tale of a couple seeking to save their marriage using a form
of selective memory erasure and the paranoid troubles they encounter after
undergoing the procedure. More information on Morgan and Wong's upcoming
projects will be reported here as it becomes available.

Leading Men Lock Horns Millennium and The

Mapping the Multiverse The One, the latest motion
picture from former Millennium writers and executive
producers Glen Morgan and James Wong, opens in theaters
nationwide this evening. A sci-fi action adventure based on the idea of parallel universes,
The One stars Jet Li, was written by Morgan and Wong, and
was directed by Jim Wong.
Reviews of the film thus far have been excruciatingly bad.
Fans of the dynamic duo will, of course, have to make their
own judgments. Millennium viewers will recognize
several familiar faces since the film's supporting cast is
rounded out by James Morrison ("Dead Letters"), Tucker
Smallwood ("Goodbye Charlie"), Kim Patton ("Owls" and

Darin Morgan. Visit Sony's
